When we first looked at Ashdown Park Hotel as our prospective wedding venue there was no question that it was perfect for us, the staff were so warm and welcoming and couldn't do enough to help us and the venue itself was breathtaking. In the lead up, Lauren was amazing and had everything in hand, even when I was panicking she was calm and always one step ahead of me!
I arrived at Ashdown Park the night before our wedding to be met by Lauren, Richard and Aidan and from that moment on I was treated like royalty. The morning of the wedding, Richard was around from the crack of dawn, organising the florist, cakes, the hairdresser and make-up artist, allowing me to enjoy the build up!
As I walked down the aisle, I was blown away by how beautiful everything looked! I was overwhelmed by how many of our wonderful friends and family had turned out to share our special day. The ceremony was beautiful and was exactly how we wanted it, formal but personal.
Stephen the Toastmaster kept the day flowing and was fantastic at ensuring that it went without a hitch. They made sure that both my dress and I were seated in an unusual way which led to lots of laughs from our guests and was just one of many extra touches that made our day so memorable! During the wedding breakfast the food was outstanding and the waiting staff were so attentive, our glasses were never empty. The speeches were brilliant, with my dad, Stu (the groom), John (the best man) and an unusual message from the bridesmaids bringing tears as well as roars of laughter!
The grounds made for truly beautiful photographs and although the weather during the day was a little cloudy as the evening approached the light was just perfect against the outstanding backdrop of the hotel.
The beautiful backdrop of the stained glass windows and the high vaulted ceilings were perfect for our band 'Covers in Arms'. We danced the night away with all our friends and family! We finally made it back to our room in the early hours of the morning and were surprised by the extra touches that the Ashdown Park ha d added to our room (I don't want to spoil the surprises for any future couples!)!
The next morning our wedding weekend continued with a invitation-only breakfast held in a private room which was decorated with the table flowers from the wedding, it was lovely to be able to reflect on the day with all our friends and family and the perfect end to a magical weekend.
I cannot put into words how wonderful Ashdown park and the staff, particularly Lauren and Richard, were. I cannot believe that they do it day in and day out as they made us feel so special, one in a million. It was the most magical day, everything we had ever dreamt of and went like clockwork. I am just sorry that it is over but am so glad we have the DVD so that we can remember such a truly special day.
